Brass is a tough, durable and corrosion resistant metal with good appearance. It has good cold working properties and is easy to solder or braze. Highly polished brass is often used for door plates and home interior items. Because of its reasonable price and good looks it is also widely used in the craft and jewellery making industries.

Corrosion resistance is good in most environments.
